It is worth seeing what the so-called "green line" looks like in practice - a buffer zone with border guard posts and long guns. This place reminds us of the difficult history of the island. It should be remembered that there is an absolute ban on taking pictures of the border guard. Additionally, on the mountain slopes on the Turkish side there is a huge painted Turkish flag with the inscription "I am happy to be Turkish", directed towards the Greek part of the island. This is a controversial but extremely important element of the landscape.
